Career Talk With NUTM MBA & Masters Students
The session focused on helping MSc and MBA students understand how to strategically navigate their mid-career phase. Discussions highlighted the importance of continuous career development, leadership readiness, and proactive professional growth.
Participants were introduced to key indicators of mid-career inflection points such as slowed promotions, limited exposure to strategic decision-making, and the need to expand professional influence beyond routine tasks.
The facilitators also discussed the transition from functional leadership to strategic leadership, emphasizing the importance of decision-making capability, strategic thinking, leadership presence, and achieving results through people.
A key framework introduced during the session was the SQuEN Career Acceleration Framework (Skills, Qualifications, Experience, and Network), which highlighted how professionals can deliberately build their competitive advantage and accelerate career progression.
